Professional Structural Engineer Full Time

Hire Resolves Client is seeking for an experienced Professional Structural Engineer in the Civil Engineering environment. 

Responsibilities:

• In this role, you will be responsible for the structural design of reinforced concrete and structural steel structures and buildings according to SANS design codes.
• Structural Design, Utilize advanced knowledge and skills with Prokon Design Software, PADDS or Probar 2, and AutoCAD to design and analyse various structural elements and systems.
• Employ intermediate knowledge of Revit, ROBOT or Prokon Sumo, and BIM digital delivery for structural modeling and coordination.
• Stay updated with industry standards and regulations to ensure designs meet safety and quality requirements.
• Project Management, Collaborate with project managers and teams to deliver projects within specified timelines and budgets.
• Provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptualization to completion.
• Contract Management, Apply intermediate understanding of contract management and contracts such as JBCC, GCC, etc.
• Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are favorable and align with project objectives.
• Quality Assurance, Conduct thorough quality checks and reviews of structural designs and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Implement quality assurance processes to minimize errors and ensure deliverables meet client expectations.
• Communication and Collaboration, Effectively communicate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to address design requirements, resolve issues, and ensure project objectives are met.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.

Qualifications: 

• B.Eng or BSc Eng from a recognised university
• Professional registration with ECSA
• Code B driver’s license
• Minimum of 5 years experience
• Advanced knowledge and skill with Prokon Design Software, PADDS or Probar 2 and AutoCAD
• Intermediate knowledge of Revit, ROBOT or Prokon Sumo, and BIM digital delivery
• A comprehensive understanding of SANS codes and knowledge of other design codes (BS, EU/EN, American, etc.) will be an advantage.
• Intermediate understanding of contract management and contracts (JBCC, GCC, etc.).
