Production Coordinator Full Time

A leading plastics manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Production Coordinator with strong experience in production planning, team supervision, and manufacturing operations to join their team in Brackenfell, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production activities, supervising Production Supervisors and factory staff, ensuring efficient shift operations, maintaining quality and safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day production operations.
• Supervise Production Supervisors and factory staff across shifts.
• Plan and prioritise production schedules to meet operational targets.
• Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong health and safety culture.
• Manage employee discipline, including issuing warnings where necessary.
• Monitor production performance and address operational issues to minimise downtime.
• Order raw materials and production consumables.
• Monitor stock levels and prepare raw material consumption reports.
• Ensure production quality standards and company procedures are maintained.
• Prepare production and performance reports for management.
• Work closely with maintenance, quality, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Support continuous improvement, production planning, and staff development initiatives.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production supervisory or coordination role.
• Strong production planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising production teams and coordinating shift operations.
• Knowledge of stock control and raw material management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage disciplinary processes and conduct toolbox talks.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work shifts.
