Job Summary:

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and assisting in identifying opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement. Working closely with the finance team and other key stakeholders, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports, budget variance analysis, and financial forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.

General Ledger Management:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
• Review and post journal entries.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Accounts Receivable and Payable:

• Manage accounts receivable processes, including billing, collections, and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable processes, including vendor payments and reconciliations.
• Perform periodic analysis on accounts receivable and accounts payable aging, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Taxation and Compliance:

• Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
• Monitor tax payments and ensure compliance to avoid penalties and fines.
• Assist in coordinating audits and providing necessary documentation to auditors.

Financial Controls and Processes:

• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Support the implementation of new accounting software or systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• SAICA Articles completed is a mandatory requirement
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role.
• Proficient in Caseware
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax laws.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
