Job Title: Senior Tax Clerk
Industry: Accounting
Location: Sunningdale, CT
The Senior Tax Clerk will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and filing of tax returns for individuals and businesses. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations, as well as excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist with gathering and organizing financial information for tax returns
– Prepare and complete tax returns accurately and in a timely manner
– Research and stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations
– Assist clients with tax planning and compliance
– Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding tax matters
– Assist with training and mentoring junior tax staff
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
– SAIT Registered Preferred
– SAIPA or SAICA Articles are advantageous
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation
– Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
– Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Experience with Greatsoft, Xero and Sage software is a plus
– Fluent with SARS easyfiling and E-Filing
