Buyer Full Time

Hire Resolve’s client, a well-established Food and Beverage company located in Paarl, is seeking a dedicated Buyer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and supplies to support efficient production operations.

Responsibilities

• Gather data and prepare negotiations (content and organizational aspects)
• Research suppliers and raw materials
• Compare prices; assist in maintaining price tools with lead buyers
• Send out contracts, check order confirmations, inform lead buyers of changes
• Prepare, create, maintain, and track contracts in SAP
• Create and maintain supplier and material master data
• Efficiently manage samples
• Handle administrative processing for complaints in consultation with lead buyers
• Procure raw materials/packaging
• Generate Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery
• Expedite deliveries; resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other issues
• Coordinate with Planning team for material planning and accurate projections
• Coordinate with accounts for vendor payments
• Leverage existing procurement strategies, contracts, and relationships
• Build strategic relationships with key suppliers
• Lead localization of raw and packaging materials
• Conduct internal/external price benchmarking
• Maintain price tools in consultation with lead buyers
• Periodic appraisal of suppliers; take necessary action on non-performing suppliers

Requirements:

• Relevant Tertiary qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain
• More than 4 years of professional experience as a Buyer in the Food and Beverage industry
  (Flavours advantageous)
• SAP experience (Essential)
• MS. Excel Intermediate skills (Essential)
