Senior Geometric Design Engineer/Technologist Full Time

A dynamic Engineering Consulting Company in Cape Town is looking for a Senior Geometric Design Engineer/Technologist to join their team!

Key requirements:

• BEng or BTech degree
• Minimum of 8 years specific roads design experience
• Preferably registered with ECSA as a Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech Eng
• Proficient in Civil Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D design software packages
• CAD, preferably AutoCAD experience
• COLTO, COTO advantageous
• Site experience advantageous

Key responsibilities:

• Doing geometric design of roads and drawing production standards of national and provincial authorities
• Work with complex road projects involving freeway interchange design, major provincial roads, urban arterial roads, dual carriageways, major intersections, roundabouts, road marking, drainage etc
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, requiring co-ordination between discipline interfaces, such as, geotechnical, structures, materials, transportation, environmental etc.
• Produce 3D visualization of road designs
• Preparation of road infrastructure design reports
• Preparation of tender documentation, including specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
• Compliance with ISO standards of the company
• Assisting in projects as required
