Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Cape Town
Reports to: Finance Manager
Job Summary:
Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will have completed their SAICA articles and possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
– Prepare monthly financial statements and reports
– Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes
– Manage and oversee the work of junior accounting staff
– Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and financial controls
– Prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts
– Provide financial insights and support to senior management
– Assist with the preparation of tax filings and audits
– Identify potential areas for process improvement and assist in the implementation of improvements
– Stay current on accounting standards and best practices
Qualifications:
– Completed SAICA articles
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
– 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
– Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
– Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Skilled with IFRS for SME’s
– Skilled with Sage, Pastel, Caseware, Xero
