SDR Manager Full Time

Our client is looking for an SDR Manager based in South Africa to lead their outbound Sales Development function. You’ll start by taking ownership of an existing offshore outbound team, running a leaderboard-led playbook that has already proven highly effective. From there, you’ll build and lead a new, locally based South African SDR team.

This is a hybrid build-and-run role. You’ll inherit a successful outbound function from day one while being responsible for hiring, training, and growing a local team over time. The ideal candidate leads by example—personally testing and validating new outbound strategies before rolling them out across the wider team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the existing offshore outbound team, including target setting, performance management, and pipeline accountability.
• Build and lead a new South African SDR team, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
• Own and optimise the outbound sales playbook, leveraging data-driven LinkedIn social selling and email sequencing strategies.
• Act as a hands-on SDR during the initial stages by testing new outbound messaging, targeting strategies, and sales approaches before implementing them across the team.
• Review and optimise the end-to-end SDR process, including tooling, sequencing, data quality, targeting, and workflow efficiency.
• Develop and manage outbound signal strategies using buyer intent data, job-change triggers, and keyword monitoring.
• Manage email and LinkedIn outreach cadences, balancing high-volume prospecting with personalised outreach.
• Support Customer Success and Marketing by providing outbound data insights and analysis.
• Track, analyse, and report on team performance, pipeline generation, and outbound experiments.
• Develop and continuously improve onboarding, training materials, and sales documentation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in an SDR, BDR, or Sales Development role, including leadership, team lead, or player-coach experience.
• Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting through cold calling, email campaigns, and multi-channel sales outreach.
• Strong personal outbound sales capability with the ability to coach by example.
• Experience selling to or prospecting Marketing Executives (CMOs, VPs of Marketing, Demand Generation Leaders) and/or Sales and Revenue Executives.
• Previous experience within MarTech, Sales Technology, or a B2B SaaS environment is highly advantageous.
• Experience working within outbound-focused sales organisations that utilise structured outbound methodologies.
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing SDR teams.
• Experience with data enrichment platforms such as Clay or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of modern outbound methodologies, AI-assisted sales workflows, and dialling platforms.
• Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage an existing team while building and scaling a new team.

Tools:

The successful candidate will work with a modern outbound technology stack, including:

• LinkedIn Sales Navigator
• Lemlist
• Linked Helper
• HubSpot
• G2 Buyer Intent
• Apify
• Chili Piper
• Canva
• Notion
• Google Workspace
