Quality Manager Full Time NEW

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Manager to establish, implement, and manage quality control processes within their stainless steel manufacturing facility. This role is critical in driving product and process quality, leading the journey toward ISO compliance, and maintaining existing Health & Safety systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
• Inspect and audit fabrication processes to ensure compliance with product specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Train and mentor staff on quality standards and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including quality plans, inspection checklists, and product traceability records.
• Lead the implementation of ISO 9001 or other relevant standards (e.g., ISO 3834 for welding).
• Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Drive internal audits, non-conformance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare the company for certification and liaise with external auditors and certification bodies.
• Oversee and maintain the existing Health & Safety system (digitally managed).
• Conduct periodic H&S inspections and ensure compliance with OHS regulations.
• Support the team in incident investigations and ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• National Diploma or Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality control or quality management in a manufacturing environment (preferably stainless steel or metal fabrication.)
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 implementation and auditing.
• Strong understanding of welding, fabrication processes, and stainless steel properties.
• Knowledge of South African OHS regulations and H&S systems.
