Quality Assurance Officer Full Time NEW

A leading food manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Officer with strong experience in food safety, quality assurance, and quality management systems within a food manufacturing environment to join their team in Lanseria, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring products consistently meet food safety, regulatory, and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Conduct routine quality checks on product specifications, including pH, viscosity, acidity, brix, and blend consistency.
• Maintain and enforce HACCP, ISO 22000 and/or FSSC 22000 food safety management systems.
• Perform sanitation and hygiene audits and oversee Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) procedures.
• Inspect incoming raw materials and verify supplier documentation.
• Manage retention samples and conduct shelf-life, sensory, and stability testing.
• Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Passed Matric (Grade 12).
• National Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Consumer Science, Quality Control, or a related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within a food manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 and/or FSSC 22000.
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as pH meters and refractometers is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Recent graduates with relevant qualifications may be considered.
