Merchandise Planner Full Time

A leading retail company situated in the Western Cape is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Merchandise Planner to join their team.

The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:

• A game changer who can work for a retailer of the future driving sales & strategy
• Innovative thinker who can maximize category margin and stock efficiencies
• Excellent analytical skills that drive and support business strategy while challenging the status quo
• Effective assortment planning with a strong trader instinct
• Agile thinkers who can drive promotional activity and engage with channel owners to drive sales velocity
• Execute strategy and deliver against key financial and service level metrics

Key requirements:

• Tertiary qualification/degree in a relevant field
• Minimum of 3 years of Merchandise Planning experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders with confidence
• Confidence in your analytical skills to make high-impact decisions regarding your category
• Strong organization, planning, and time management skills
• Proficient capabilities in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Demonstrated experience working with production, trends, and buying teams to achieve strategy vision
