Mechanical Engineer Full Time

We are looking for a dedicated and proficient Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s team in Cape Town.

The ideal candidate will have experience in smoke extraction and ventilation systems, as well as HVAC (fresh air supply). This role presents an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise and grow within our company, with potential for future studies at the Master’s level, supported by the company.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop smoke extraction and ventilation systems for various projects.
• Plan and implement HVAC systems, focusing on fresh air supply, to ensure optimal indoor air quality.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical systems during the design and construction phases.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Stay current with industry advancements, technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
• Assist in the internal training of fire systems for suitable candidates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Resident of Cape Town or surrounding areas.
• Proven experience in smoke extraction and ventilation systems.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, specifically fresh air supply.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to pursue a Master’s degree in the future, with company assistance.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
