Hire Resolve’s client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter & Turner to oversee mechanical maintenance and production support at their Durban-based facility. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership ability and experience in a fast-paced, continuous production environment.
Lead and participate in mechanical maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability.
Identify, diagnose and resolve mechanical faults and equipment issues.
Minimise machinery downtime and support continuous production.
Manage and support maintenance and production teams.
Monitor team performance and contribute to improved production efficiency.
Provide hands-on technical support in a demanding manufacturing environment.
Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve maintenance and operational challenges.
Red Seal Trade Test in Fitting & Turning is essential.
Completed four-year apprenticeship.
Proven experience in an FMCG or continuous production environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance and production teams.
Strong technical, analytical, fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication and leadership capabilities.
Proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to work under pressure.
Computer literacy.
A proven track record in a similar production and maintenance supervisory role is advantageous.
