Are you a seasoned Wealth Product Specialist with over 7 years of experience in investments and financial planning, ready to lead complex advisory support for a national network of financial advisors?
Our client, a leading firm in the Financial Services environment, is seeking a Technical Specialist Product to join their Technical Adviser Support team in Cape Town. This Mid-Senior role is responsible for ensuring the competitiveness of the product suite and serving as the primary subject matter expert on technical product and advice matters.
This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical expertise, senior-level engagement, and proven management abilities.
Adviser Support: Provide ongoing proactive and reactive technical advisory support to a large national network of advisers and distribution teams on complex advice-related matters.
Product Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert on technical product and advice matters, including participation in relevant technical/distribution committees.
Product Competitiveness: Work closely with product providers to ensure the product suite remains competitive
Due Diligence: Collaborate with cross-divisional teams on product and product provider due diligence, in conjunction with risk and finance teams
Large Case Review: Serve as the subject matter expert and manager of the large case review process, including presenting findings to senior management for approval.
Process Improvement: On an ongoing basis, evaluate, review, and improve the large case process.
Team Leadership: Facilitate technical training for junior staff and ensure the effective management of direct reports.
Content & Marketing: Draft, review, and sign-off communication and content for marketing and technical purposes (e.g., Take Notes, articles) in relation to advice and distribution activities.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years’ experience in wealth and investment products.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of financial planning and experience engaging at an EXCO/Senior Management level.
Education: A Degree in Financial Management / Financial Planning or a related field.
Designation (Advantageous): Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning.
Skills: Proven ability to identify, assess, and solve problems. Must demonstrate excellent management/leadership skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence and negotiate
