Job Title: Structural Engineer/Technologist/Technician

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer/Technologist/Technician to join our client’s team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing residential, commercial, and retail construction projects in the area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of structural engineering principles and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Design and oversee residential, commercial, and retail construction projects
• Analyze project sites, materials, and building designs to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes
• Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for construction projects
• Conduct on-site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure quality control
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other team members to ensure project success
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in structural engineering

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or relevant field
• 10 years’ work experience as a Structural Engineer/Technologist/Technician
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard software
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
