Senior Civil Engineer Full Time NEW

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to oversee and add value to large construction projects in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate will have a specialized focus on contracting-type work within the water sector, with a strong background in water demand management, water conservation, and Non-Revenue Water projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale construction projects with a focus on water-related infrastructure.
• Manage projects related to pressure and network zone management, including the installation of reinforced concrete chambers, bulk water meters, pressure reducing valves, and related infrastructure.
• Provide technical expertise in water demand management and water conservation, ensuring projects align with best practices in these areas.
• Conduct feasibility studies, prepare detailed proposals, and compile reports.
• Manage contract documentation, procurement processes, and contract administration in line with SAICE, GCC, and FIDIC standards.
• Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with statutory procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Utilize advanced software tools, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to aid in the design and implementation of projects.

Qualifications:

• Valid South African Driver’s License.
• South African citizen or valid permit to work in South Africa.
• Sc/B. Eng in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Registration with ECSA (advantageous but not compulsory).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field.
• Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office Packages.
• Experience with WADISO will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in water demand management, water conservation, and Non-Revenue Water projects.
• Experience in contract documentation and administration with SAICE, GCC, and FIDIC.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, ensuring integration with other engineering disciplines.
