Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in the heavy manufacturing/mining industry. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills and experience working with financial data in a manufacturing/mining environment. This role will involve overseeing the financial records of the company and ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
• Full-function creditors and debtors management
  
• Petty cash processing and reconciliations.
• Daily stock & inventory processing and adjustments
• Post journal entries for accrued expenses, and interest-bearing loans
• Monitor cash flow and budgeting to ensure financial stability
• Assist with tax preparation and reporting
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency

Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in financial accounting, within the heavy manufacturing/mining industry
• Proficient with Accounting Packages – eg. Sage, Pastel, Xero Accounting.
• Intermediate Excel Skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A can-do attitude
• Own transport essential
• An ability to work to deadlines.
• Honest and trustworthy
• Strong ethical code
• Ability to multitask
• Commitment to working efficiently and accurately
