SAP CPI Integration Developer Full Time NEW

Our client is looking an experienced SAP CPI Integration Developer to join their growing SAP Integration team, remotely from Johannesburg, Durban or Cape Town.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI). This role requires extensive experience integrating SAP and non-SAP applications while ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing integration solutions.

Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain SAP CPI integration flows (iFlows).
• Build message mappings, routing logic, transformations, and exception handling.
• Develop integrations between SAP S/4HANA and third-party applications.
• Configure and implement integration adapters including:
  • REST
  • SOAP
  • OData
  • IDoc
  • SFTP
  • JDBC
• Ensure integrations are reliable, scalable, and maintainable.

Integration Architecture: 

• Design enterprise integration solutions following SAP best practices.
• Implement reusable integration frameworks.
• Develop API-led and event-driven integration architectures.
• Apply cloud integration standards for security, scalability, and performance.

API Management: 

• Design, publish, secure, and monitor APIs.
• Implement API policies and lifecycle management.
• Support internal and external API consumption.
• Work with SAP API Management and SAP BTP services.

Testing & Deployment: 

• Perform unit testing and integration testing.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Manage deployment and transport of CPI integrations across environments.
• Maintain proper version control and deployment standards

Monitoring & Supporting: 

• Monitor CPI message processing
• Troubleshoot failed integrations
• Perform root cause analysis
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support
• Optimise integration performance and stability

Documentation & Collaboration: 

• Produce technical design documentation.
• Create mapping documents and operational guides.
• Collaborate with:
  • SAP Functional Consultants
  • Business Analysts
  • Solution Architects
  • Project Managers
  • Business Stakeholders

Requirements: 

• 5+ years’ experience developing SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) solutions.
• Strong experience with SAP Integration Suite.
• Hands-on experience integrating SAP S/4HANA and third-party platforms.
• Experience with:
  • SAP BTP
  • SAP API Management
  • SAP Cloud Connector
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Integration Patterns
  • Message Mapping
  • XSLT
  • Groovy Scripting
  • JavaScript
• Experience with:
  • REST APIs
  • SOAP Web Services
  • OData
  • IDoc
  • BAPI
  • RFC
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite Certification.
• Experience with:
  • Event Mesh
  • Integration Advisor
  • Open Connectors
• SAP ABAP knowledge.
• OData development experience
