Resident Engineer Contract

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer specializing in Roads to join a leading engineering consultancy in Durban.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the construction and maintenance of road projects
• Coordinate project activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Supervise construction teams and ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations
• Manage project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures
• Review and approve construction plans and documentation
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
• Prepare project reports and communicate progress to key stakeholders
• Monitor project budget and control costs
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards on construction sites

Requirements: 

• B.Sc Eng / B.Eng / B.Tech Eng qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA (Non-negotiable)
• Minimum 20 years’ relevant roads and earthworks experience on major road projects.
• SANRAL roads experience
• Strong knowledge of road construction techniques, materials, and specifications
• Experience in project management and contract administration
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools
• Valid driver’s license
