Research & Development Chemist Manager Full Time NEW

A leading personal care and cosmetics manufacturer in South Africa, known for developing and manufacturing innovative skincare and beauty products, is seeking a talented Research & Development Chemist Manager to join its technical team. The successful candidate will drive product innovation, oversee skincare formulation and development projects, and lead the R&D team in delivering high-quality products for local and international markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

▪️ Develop innovative skincare and personal care formulations.
▪️ Lead, coach and mentor the R&D team.
▪️ Manage new product development and reformulation projects.
▪️ Oversee manufacturing processes, scale-ups and production trials.
▪️ Troubleshoot formulation, manufacturing and packaging challenges.
▪️ Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
▪️ Collaborate with marketing, supply chain and production teams.
▪️ Drive continuous improvement and product innovation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

▪️ Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a BSc or equivalent.
▪️ Qualification in Cosmetic Science (required).
▪️ Postgraduate diploma advantageous.
▪️ Minimum of one year’s leadership or management experience.

KEY SKILLS:

▪️ Strong leadership and communication skills.
▪️ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
▪️ Project management and attention to detail.
▪️ Knowledge of cosmetic formulation, GLP and laboratory techniques.
▪️ Understanding of regulatory requirements.
