Instrumentation Technician Full Time

A leading engineering company is looking for an experienced Instrumentation Technician with strong experience in dairy processing environments and instrumentation systems to join their team in Estcourt, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and improving instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal plant performance, efficiency, and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance and calibration of instrumentation equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults on PLCs, sensors, transmitters, and automated systems
• Ensure minimal downtime by responding effectively to breakdowns and plant issues
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and system upgrades
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve operational efficiency

Requirements:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related qualification
• Proven experience as an Instrumentation Technician within the food processing industry
• Dairy industry experience is essential
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, and automated processing equipment
• Experience with fault finding, calibration, and preventative maintenance
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
