Credit Analyst Full Time

A well-established finance company is looking for an experienced Credit Analyst to join their team in Cape Town.

About the role

This position is suited to a detail-oriented and analytical finance professional with experience in credit risk assessment and regulatory compliance. The role will involve a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Conducting financial analysis and due diligence on bridging finance applications
• Assessing applicant creditworthiness through financial data, credit reports, and legal documentation
• Assisting with structuring credit underwriting terms to mitigate risk
• Performing affordability assessments in line with regulatory requirements
• Ensuring compliance with the National Credit Act (NCA) and POPIA regulations
• Maintaining detailed and audit-ready credit documentation
• Supporting the monitoring of the credit portfolio and identifying risk trends
• Collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth loan processes
• Assisting with the implementation of digital and data-driven risk solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related field.
• 2+ Years’ experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, or a similar role.
• Exposure to bridging finance or specialist lending environments.
• Practical knowledge of the National Credit Act (NCA) and its application within the South African lending market.
• Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
