Category Planner I Full Time

A leading agri-retail and supply chain company is looking for an experienced Category Planner I with strong experience in demand planning, sales analysis, forecasting, inventory optimisation, and replenishment scheduling to join their team in Paarl. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning demand planning with sales performance, analysing market trends, improving stock service levels, and supporting efficient supply chain operations within a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse sales data, demand patterns, and market trends to support forecasting and planning
• Develop and manage demand forecasts, seasonal plans, and replenishment schedules
• Optimise inventory performance, stock service levels, and category profitability
• Monitor planning execution and reporting, providing insights to support decision-making
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across departments
• Utilise digital tools and systems to improve efficiency and identify opportunities
• Conduct lead time analysis to support effective supply chain management

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in planning, supply chain, or category management
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Experience with Blue Yonder (JDA) Planning systems advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work extended hours during peak trading periods
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
