Assistant Resident Engineer – Structures (Water) Contract

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer – Structures (Water) to join our client’s team, working on SANRAL projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects, helping to ensure the successful completion of water-related structures.

As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising construction activities related to water structures
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations
• Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and ensure timely reporting on project status
• Collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to address any construction-related issues
• Review and verify construction drawings, material submittals, and other documentation
• Assist in measuring and certifying completed work
• Prepare progress reports and maintain project documentation
• Participate in project meetings and provide inputs for decision-making

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Must be Professionally Registered
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, specifically in water projects
• Experience working on SANRAL projects is a must
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, principles, and materials related to water structures
• Familiarity with relevant engineering software and tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
