Accountant Full Time

A leading Financial Services Group is looking for an experienced Accountant to join their financial accounting and reporting team in Durbanville, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute accounting professional to ensure compliance and drive timely financial reporting for a diverse client base across various entity types. If you have experience in financial accounting and audit, a strong understanding of IFRS, and are deadline-focused, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Plan annual financial reporting schedules with the Financial Manager.
• Advise on accounting, review, and audit requirements, including IFRS application queries.
• Complete all financial reports for various entities within statutory deadlines.
• Draft explanations of financial statements for clients.
• Meet with clients (internal and external) to manage accounting matters and handle compliance research.
• Prepare or review management reports and cash flow forecasts as required.
• Track time for client invoicing, draft official accountant letters, and ensure final statements are accepted before tax filing.
• Attend professional development to maintain CPD and stay current with legislative changes.

Requirements:

• A degree in Accounting.
• Preferably a professional qualification (e.g., SAIPA) or working toward one.
• 3-5 years’ experience in financial accounting and audit.
• Experience with Draftworx or similar accounting software.
