Structural Engineer Full Time NEW

Our client, a reputable structural and civil consulting firm, is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in design using Prokon software, with a focus on concrete and structural steel structures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects across various industries, including industrial, mining, residential, commercial, and municipal sectors.

Responsibilities

• Design and Analysis: Perform detailed structural design and analysis for a variety of projects using Prokon software, focusing on concrete structures from foundations to roof slabs and structural steel elements including portal frames, girders, trusses, overhead cranes, and crawl beams.
• Project Management: Manage and oversee project phases from concept to completion, ensuring that all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, other engineers, and project managers to develop effective and efficient structural solutions.
• Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to ensure that construction aligns with design specifications and quality standards.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed design calculations, reports, and technical drawings.
• Client Interaction: Maintain strong communication with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice and solutions.

Requirements

• A degree in Structural Engineering (BSc / BTech / BEng) is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a willingness to consider candidates with more experience.
• Proficiency in Prokon software for structural design.
• Extensive design experience in concrete structures and structural steel, including but not limited to foundations, roof slabs, portal frames, girders, trusses, overhead cranes, and crawl beams.
• Relevant experience in industrial, mining, residential, commercial, and municipal projects is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in Afrikaans is highly beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
