Structural Engineer Full Time

Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our client’s team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be a professional registered engineer with a strong background in structural engineering and a passion for delivering high-quality and innovative solutions to clients. You will be responsible for structural design of concrete and steel structures and buildings according to SANS design codes.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and coordinating the construction of various structural projects, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure
• Conducting site inspections and assessments to ensure the structural integrity and safety of existing structures
• Developing engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations
• Collaborating with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
• Providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers and project teams
• Staying current on industry trends and best practices in structural engineering

Qualifications:

• Professional registration as a Structural Engineer in South Africa
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering
• Strong knowledge of relevant software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Prokon Design Software, PADDS and Probar 2
• Intermediate knowlegde of ROBOT, Prokon Sumo and BIM
• Understanding of SANS codes
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience working on a variety of project types and sizes
