Senior Professional Structural Engineer – Engineering industry – Johannesburg, Gauteng Full Time NEW

Hire Resolve’s client in the Engineering industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Professional Structural Engineer in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities:

• Providing professional services and assisting in the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects.
• Leading conceptual and detailed structural design, including the use of software and hand calculations.
• Assisting with departmental budgets, resourcing, and outsourcing of work.
• Enhancing design ability and quality, and drafting technical reports.
• Providing technical solutions, checking the work of others, and presenting technical work to clients and at conferences.
• Developing knowledge of the commercial aspects of project management and assisting with bids.
• Assigning and coordinating tasks for other team members and supervising Engineers or Technicians.
• Ensuring quality assurance throughout the project life cycle.
• Managing sub-consultants and communicating with clients.
• Managing multiple projects/contracts, including drafting and implementing Work Authorizations/Variation Orders.
• Assessing Contractor’s claims and providing technical support to other departments.
• Maintaining client relationships and assisting with project financials, forecasting, and revenue recognition.
• Contributing to marketing and business development, and assisting in winning new projects.
• Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Mentoring graduates and managing project sections or entire projects.
• Submitting EOIs, RFQs, tenders, and proposals, and indirectly controlling specific project budgets.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor of Engineering degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• ECSA Professional Engineer status is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 2-3 years post-professional registration.
• Demonstrated experience in conceptual and detailed design development on multiple complex projects.
• Strong emphasis on structural engineering detailed design and niche technical building design expertise.
