Production Planner Full Time

A well-established and leading food manufacturing company in Cape Town is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Production Planner to join their dynamic and growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven environment that supplies premium products to a major national retail client and distributes across South Africa.

As the Production Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating and optimizing production schedules to meet customer demand, while ensuring operational efficiency and minimal waste. You will work closely with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure a seamless flow from raw material intake to final product distribution. The role also includes stock and packaging tracking, shipment progress monitoring, and internal operations coordination within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee administrative aspects of production planning

• Track stock on hand and packaging levels

• Monitor shipment progress and production timelines (primarily using Excel)

• Coordinate closely with internal operations teams to ensure smooth workflows

• Analyse production trends to improve productivity and efficiency

• Ensure adherence to industry and client compliance standards

Requirements:

• Prior experience in food manufacturing (preferred) or pharmaceutical production

• Familiarity with products that have short and long shelf lives

• Experience supporting large national retail clients advantageous

• Strong Excel proficiency is essential

• Previous use of ERP systems; experience with Excite and Pastel beneficial

• Ability to work hands-on in a dynamic, people-focused environment

• Compliance awareness and proactive problem-solving approach
