Production Planner Full Time

A leading manufacturer in the consumer goods sector is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing effective production schedules, coordinating with procurement and operations teams, and ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand. Reporting to the Manufacturing Executive, the role also involves supporting cross-departmental workflow, maintaining accurate production records, and overseeing material planning and work order execution to ensure smooth production operations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the availability of materials to meet production demands

• Coordinate with supervisors and internal stakeholders on production requirements

• Create and distribute work orders and production schedules

• Revise schedules as needed based on operational changes

• Plan production timetables aligned with sales forecasts

• Capture and maintain production data

• Provide supporting documentation for delays or cost changes

• Perform ad hoc administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a production planning role

• Proven experience as a planner in a plastics manufacturing environment (essential)

• Proficient in JDE systems (scheduler, work order reconciliation, MRP, MRP11)

• Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

• High accuracy and critical thinking

• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision

• Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills

• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
