Job Title: Procurement Manager, Cape Town, Solar Industry

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our client’s team in Cape Town within the solar industry. As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, negotiations, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services to support our solar projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement within the renewable energy sector and possess excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company’s goals and objectives in the solar industry
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with vendors
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards
• Monitor market trends, conduct cost analysis, and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers and engineers, to ensure procurement needs are met
• Drive & develop project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in conjunction with Engineering Department
  Handover project procurement list (BOQ) to Project Management Department
• Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals to achieve departmental objectives
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
• Implement and maintain procurement software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency

Qualifications:

• BCom degree or other relevant qualification
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement within the solar or renewable energy industry
• Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct cost analysis and market research
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in procurement software and systems
