IT Manager Full Time

A leading media company in Cape Town is looking for an experienced IT Manager to oversee all aspects of information technology. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute IT professional to drive stability and efficiency by managing the office and on-air network (including supporting systems like Zeta and Newsroom), ensuring staff are adequately equipped and supported, overseeing technical resources, vendor relationships, security, budget, and disaster recovery planning. The role requires providing fast, responsive support, especially given the pressures of the live studio environment. Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the Office and On-Air Network infrastructure, prioritizing the Zeta, Studio, and Office Networks. Provide fast, responsive support for all IT/Tech queries, aiming for resolution within maximum specified times.
• Manage technical resources and support services, ensuring high operational stability and limiting downtime to a maximum of 30 minutes.
• Maintain all physical and virtual servers, including monthly hardware maintenance and maintaining all hardware (including UPS) and printers.
• Implement failsafe, contingencies, and redundancies to ensure speedy downtime recovery and maintain the Disaster Recovery plan, ensuring no loss of data.
• Ensure the security of data, the network, and backups, providing maximum protection from security breaches. Manage access control for the office and maintain camera footage.
• Conduct quarterly audits on IT systems, audit systems to identify problem areas, and perform annual license audits/assessments.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with key vendors/suppliers (SLA’s), including Seacom, RJ45, Outsource Digital, Sentech, and Paul Switch UP.
• Manage the Technical budget, including setting the annual budget and preparing monthly technical expenses reports.

Requirements:

• Hold a relevant certification or degree in an IT-related field.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an equivalent IT management role.
• Demonstrate strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Capable of working independently and managing tasks without constant supervision.
