Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Cape Town. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, analyzing plans and specifications, and collaborating with various teams to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and a high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
– Analyze project plans and specifications to determine accurate cost estimates
– Prepare and submit detailed bids and proposals for construction projects
– Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates
– Review and assess project scope, schedules, and materials requirements
– Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
– Track and analyze project costs and provide regular updates to project teams
– Review and negotiate subcontractor bids and proposals
– Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documentation
– Keep abreast of industry trends, materials costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive pricing
Requirements:
– Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role
– Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
– Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes
– Proficient in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
– Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
– Strong communication and negotiation skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Detail-oriented and highly organized
– Knowledge of local building regulations and codes in Cape Town
– Valid driver’s license
