Store Manager
An industry-leading company situated in Mpumalanga is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Store Manager to join their team.
The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:
- Coordinate and supervise receiving and storing procedures
- Plans and oversees the conduct of physical inventories of stock items and property and reconciles with inventory records
- Plan the store’s layout and assign work according to volume, assignment, and individual skills and abilities
- Oversees the maintenance of manual and computerized inventory records to track physical property, stock levels, and usage of consumable items
- Reviews reports of missing physical property and prepares appropriate paperwork to document the reduction of the company’s inventory
- Attends meetings with vendors and suppliers
- Monitors usage rate of supplies to identify opportunities to control expenditures
- Set priorities, resolve problems and make decisions within general policy guidelines
- Work independently, prioritize work, coordinate activities and meet critical deadlines
- Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs
- Oversee distribution of supplies within the company
- Control inventory levels and ensure availability of material during emergencies
- Assist in defining departmental objectives and setting priorities for resources utilization
- Develop effective policies and procedures for storekeeping operations
- Implements and ensures appropriate storekeeping procedures are followed in the stocking of shelves, filling of supply orders and issuance of stock
- Implements inventory procedures to effectively control and minimize the loss of physical property
- Supervises staff engaged in the receipt, storage, inventorying and issuance of supplies, materials and equipment
- Plan, coordinate, assign, and review the work of subordinate staff
- Oversees staff responsible for contacting vendors to resolve problems regarding received items that are damaged or incomplete and to obtain delivery information on supplies and equipment ordered
- Trains subordinate personnel in inventory control and stores procedures
Key requirements:
- Grade 12
- 3 years Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in a Mine or Smelter Stores
- 3 years experience in supply chain and inventory or store-keeping control
- Supervisory experience
