Hire Resolve’s client in the mining industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Mechanical GES in the North West.
Responsibilities
- Drafting of Recommendations and Proposals to Section Engineer
- Monitor and integrate changes throughout the project cycle
- Assist the client in achieving operational readiness
- Ensure that project scope is engineered to the correct standards, specifications, and requirements
- Ensure that the project scope is executed in accordance with the correct engineering practices
- Assist Senior Project Engineer in ensuring that the project is successfully implemented
- Manage engineering changes to a minimum
- Accountable for following maintenance plans and schedules and ensuring that staff under his/her direction perform daily and weekly activities to meet production goals
- Translating general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for the staff
- Periodically reassess daily goals to meet forecasted production
- Completion of the appropriate and relevant logbooks
- Ensure the proper filing of all test certificates or logbooks
- Regular testing of equipment and tools
- Communication and arrangement with appropriate responsible people prior to inspection and or maintenance of equipment
- Inspection of all the equipment according to mine standards
- Inspecting PPE before use
- Ensure that all legal and safety requirements are adhered to in movement operations
- Obtain relevant safety and work permits prior to executing activities
- Isolation procedures to be followed
- Complete safety, injury, hazard, risk, and incident reports for area
- Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is always worn
- Identify opportunities to improve operations
- Actively participate in improvement projects
- Support efforts to overcome operational problems
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Mechanical Trade Test Certificate
- N3 Certificate or higher
- 5 – 8 years of mining experience within a plant environment
