Hire Resolve’s client, a leading company in the Food Industry, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team in Cape Town. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing cost data, preparing budgets, and providing cost-effective solutions to optimize expenses and increase profitability. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including production teams, financial controllers, and project managers, to ensure accurate cost analysis and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and analyzing cost data
  • Preparing budget reports
  • Providing cost-effective solutions to maximize profitability
  • Collaborating with production teams, financial controllers, and project managers
  • Monitoring financial performance
  • Performing variance analysis and identifying areas for improvement
  • Assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to management
  • Participating in cost control and cost reduction initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field/ BTech in Cost Management or Similar Qualifications .
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cost Accountant
  • Experience in the Food Industry is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Professional certification, such as CMA, is a plus
