Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Account Manager to join their team in the Food Manufacturing Industry in the Western Cape region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales within the industry and a strong understanding of the market landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Costings & Planning: The process of calculating costs and planning financial strategies for managing resources efficiently and ensuring the company’s operations align with its budgetary constraints.
  • Profitability: Ensuring that the company’s activities generate a profit by analyzing revenue streams, managing expenses, and making strategic decisions to maximize earnings.
  • Sales Budgets: Creating and managing sales budgets by setting revenue targets, allocating resources, and planning sales activities to meet organizational goals.
  • Price Increase Negotiations: Engaging in negotiations to adjust prices by understanding market conditions, cost factors, and customer sensitivities to ensure fair pricing while maintaining profitability.
  • Market Analysis: Conducting market analysis by researching and interpreting market trends, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics to inform business strategies.
  • Project Management, Category Leadership: Leading projects and managing product categories by coordinating tasks, resources, and teams to achieve specific objectives and maintain performance.
  • Internal Information & Reporting: Collecting and disseminating internal information through reports is vital for informed decision-making and tracking the company’s performance.
  • Information Gathering & Interrogation: Gathering and analyzing data is crucial for making evidence-based decisions and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Systems Understanding, Implementation & Support: Understanding, implementing, and supporting systems by ensuring that technological tools and processes are effectively integrated and maintained to support business operations.
  • Sales Reports, Margin Reports & Tracking, Promotions: Generating and analyzing sales and margin reports, tracking performance, and managing promotions to monitor business health and drive sales growth.
  • Customer Relationships and Service: Building and maintaining strong customer relationships and providing excellent service.
  • Internal Relationships & Teamwork: Fostering positive internal relationships and effective teamwork is to create a collaborative and productive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Food Science / Retail Management / Technology (3 years minimum) or relevant tertiary qualification
  • 3-5 years account management experience
  • 3-5 years experience within the food industry
  • Strong understanding of the Western Cape market and industry trends
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and commercial skills
  • Passionate about food
  • Cross-functional understanding and ability to integrate with site operational teams
  • Time management, planning and coordinating
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
