Financial Accountant

Job Description

This established Mining company is looking for a Financial Accountant for the role of head of financial accounting of the Business Unit. This position is directly responsible for managing the financial accounting department at the various operations and the financial reporting for the Business Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and finalize income statement and balance sheet for the business unit.

Compile, analyze and report on weekly profit flash report.

Compile feasibility studies for capital expenditure projects where necessary.

Prepare analysis of working capital.

Assist with year-end requirements such as stock takes, general ledger reconciliations and ad hoc duties.

Overall responsible for financial systems, controls and corporate governance.

CA (SA) / CIMA

minimum of 3 years post articles experience within mining
